~*Happy New Year!!*~

Happy New Year to everyone! May all your troubles last as long as your New Year's resolutions!!

~*Antler Feeder*~

My son Tommy made this feeder for me for Christmas. He went in our woods and found an old fence post. I love how he used the shed deer antlers for perches. He filled the holes with suet and nailed ears of corn on the post. It is hung on a sheppard's hook.

~*Christmas Surprise*~

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas!! I did, considering Tom stabbed himself in the leg and we ended up in the ER. He could of hit the artery, thank goodness he didn't. Tom was opening up plastic packaging with his new pocket knife and slipped. Anyways, he's ok just very sore now.
We are going on a cruise next November. I don't know which ship we are going to be on yet because we haven't gotten the info.. So far I know we have to fly to Puerto Rico to get on the ship. Tom has never been on a cruise and always refused to go. I know he will love the food. I went on a Royal Caribbean Cruise a couple years ago. We stopped at Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. My sister Rena and my daughter Lindsay shared a room. We had a GREAT time!!

~*Merry Christmas*~

Merry Christmas!! I had a very busy Christmas Eve. We drove to Marblehead to have Christmas with Tom's family and it went very well. However, after we got home Tom had a mishap with the new pocket knife he received as a gift. He ended up in the ER. We got him back home and he is on the mend but, we didn't get to go to my mom's because we didn't want to disturb the stitches. My kids went to mom and dad's without Tom and I. Hope everyone had a nice Christmas!!

~*Frosty and Friends*~

I have been collecting Cody Foster snowmen for a few years. I displayed some of them on our antique organ. As you can see I have an eclectic style. I love primitive but, I do have some Victorian pieces too. It's hard for me to choose. LOL!

This year I decorated our fireplace mantle with some Cody Foster snowmen and big rusty bells.
Christmas is coming fast, I'm ready this year though. Last year I started my Christmas shopping Dec. 20. I made a promise to myself that I would never do that again!!

I about have my shopping all done except for buying stocking stuffers. Hope you all are enjoying the holiday season!!
For some reason my whole post got deleted. I really appreciate all your nice comments and did read them before they mysteriously vanished. LOL!

Jumping in Mirror Lake at OSU 2008

Gus had his game day collar on. He is very camera shy, so I got this picture when he was sleeping.
This is Lindsay's freshman year at The Ohio State University. The BIG football game between OSU and Michigan is today. It is a tradition that everyone jumps in Mirror Lake the Thursday night before the game. Of course my girl jumped in and went under~twice!! It was in the 20's and snowing in Columbus, Ohio. Lindsay and her friends weren't arrested. LOL!! She's the one on the left in the pictures. Go Bucks!!

~*The Edited Version*~

I had posted a picture of this rug a couple posts back. It was on Ebay. I had a question from someone asking if I could change the year from 1841 to 1849. She said that she was from Loudonville and bought the Nelson Beem cabin on Pine Run Road. I asked her who she was and I knew who she is. My son is very good friends with her daughter. In fact my son is going to be in her daughter's wedding in April. What a small world.
Anyways, the next day she asked me if I could change the house into a cabin. First I said no then I thought why not. LOL! So here is the edited version.

~*Simple Goods Show*~

Yesterday I went to the Simple goods Show in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. There were so many people there. I bought this, it lights up. I'm going to put pine around it, haven't decided where to put it yet. I ran into Bobbie from Michigan. I saw her there last year, she's in BlestB and PRHG. I saw Kaye from PRHG. Kaye's famous now LOL!! Her house was featured in the Rug Hooking Celebrations Magazine. It was nice seeing them.

I also bought some dried oranges, gourds, pomegranates and a couple candles. I'm going to make garlands. Still need to go outside and collect Black Walnuts to put in the garlands.

~*A Beautiful Fall Day*~

There are alot of oaks on our land. All the pine trees were planted by my husband's grandparents. It is so nice to look out and see green in the winter. Most of the other leaves have fallen. I've always wanted to build a house here. But we will leave it just like it is.

This is the last cutting of hay.

~*Patriotic Flag Rug*~

This is a rug that I made for a birthday gift. I made it for Chris, she's giving the rug to her MIL Eileen for her birthday. This rug is a Blackbird Design. I have been really busy and haven't been blogging. I'm trying to get another rug hooked. It is a fall rug~I think it's the last fall rug I'm hooking.

Yesterday my mom and I went down to Columbus to go shopping. We had a good time. Also, we stopped at The Ohio State Universary to visit Lindsay. She's doing great and loves living in Columbus. There is so much to do there.

Hopefully it will warm up in Ohio. It was 21 on the thermometer this morning. I need to spend a day outside and clean up. I usually wait till every leaf has dropped from the trees.LOL!! And AWAYS hope for high winds to blow all the leaves away.

~*A Fun Day*~

Today the Pine Tree Barn had their annual Colonial Williamsburg Festival. This is the first time I've went to the festival.

The sound of the gunshots WOKE me up!!

The French lace maker was hilarious! So talented, he made it look so easy. I wouldn't even attempt trying. LOL!

Many of the artisians are in the Early American Life Directory.

~*Street Fair*~

Isn't this a beautiful vegetable display? Anyone can enter the category. It sure looks like alot of work. You have to label all the vegetables. I would love to see the person's garden that entered this display.

These are pumpkins carved by the local kids. I remember when my kids used to enter their pumpkins. It was so much fun for them.

This was our town's 120th free street fair.

These are the harvest displays of Loudonville and West Holmes FFA. The FFA in each school sets the display up and they are judged.

The kids enter their decorated pumpkins in the fair. All the pumpkins are so different.

This is the scarecrow category. Here are a few pictures of some of the entries.

~**Fall Harvest**~

Our corn got damaged in the high winds of Ike. It looks like a tornado went through here. The corn is taking twice as long to chop as it usually does. It's down or bent over but, they are getting it. We use the corn silage for feed for the heifers we raise.

~** The Ohio State University**~

Today we moved my daughter to Columbus to The Ohio State University. It was very organized and went very smooth. It was a challenge to get 3 girls organized in 2 person room. They lofted their beds and put their desks under their beds, giving each one their own space.
