Dyeing Wool

It is spring time weather in Ohio, it's not going to last long though. The weather is always changing. Last week I dyed wool. It's fun when everything turns out the way you want. Since I have been dyeing wool for a few years, I have a few favorite recipes. The colors always come out the way I want them too.
Here are some on our coffee table/ chicken incubator. I love this, got it at an auction.
This is one of the reasons why I like to dye. I bought this wool cheap and overdyed it an pumpkin color. I still have lots more wool to dye. Hoping it is not too foggy in the morning. Have a great evening!

1986 Johnson Hooked Rug

The last week of January and it is supposed to be in the 50's Wednesday! I'll take it. I have liked the snow though, it has covered up our front yard. Our 3 Golden Retrievers have dug a bunch of holes, we have moles. I will get it straightened out in the spring. Last week I dyed wool, lots of it. I bought 150 packets of Cushing dyes on Ebay at a great price. It was fun having so many colors to work with. I am excited to hook with the wool. I love this design, it is a Maggie Bonamoni-With these Hands book. Hope everyone has a great week!

First Rug of 2013

It is a beautiful sunshiny day here in Ohio, lots of snow on the ground. I have been doing laundry for my daughter, Lindsay, who is heading back to college tonight. I will be glad to get back to our regular routine. Still have to get Christmas stuff put away, think I'll probably wait till Monday. I finished this hooked rug, it's a Country Stitches design. I always love to hook Patriotic rugs. This one was fun to hook, used my new no. 9 cutter. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
