Star Log Cabin Hooked Rug
It is so rainy and gloomy in Ohio today. I'm so glad I didn't have to go out. Last night I was woke up to thunder and lightning. This week it's supposed to turn cold, I'm kinda glad. I'd rather have some white snow than mud.
I'm going to list this rug on Ebay tonight. This rug is one of my favorites that I have hooked. The colors are the ones I like to use, I hand dyed all the wool except for the mixed black plaid. The design is by Primitive Gatherings.
Have you heard of Henn Workshop pottery? They went out of business. They sold their inventory to some stores around here. So, I have been buying alot of pottery this January. I have collected it for years and have spent a fortune on it. This week I bought the dinner plates and casserole dishes etc. CHEAP, it kinda makes me sick I spent all that money on it through the years. I have been going through all the pieces and seeing what has cracks and replacing those pieces. I let my mom and sister know and now they are hooked too. Last Friday me and 2 other friends, Wanda and Chris drove to a store that had the baskets. All of us spent too much but, we had fun!!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

Winter Fest
This past weekend Louodonville had a Winter Festival. There were ice sculptures in front of all the stores but, by the time I took pictures most of the sculptures had lost alot of their detail because it was raining. This snowman was my favorite.
I loved these grapevine trees at Four Seasons Florist.
We have a cabin in the square of our town. I love it, too bad it's in town because I wish it was on our farm. A local family donated the cabin to the historical society.
I this picture for my daughter who is at college. This sculpture has alot of meaning to us because it is in memory of Garrick Tuttle who was in a car accident and passed away 4 years. It was so sad, he had drawn up this design and was going to have it made into a tattoo. The design is angel wings behind the cross . His parents own Amish Oak Furniture and are wonderful people. Garrick was a great kid.

Heart Folk Art Rug
We have finally gotten some relief from the cold temperatures. Wouldn't you know that our town is having a Ice Festival this weekend. There are ice sculptures in front of all the businesses in town.Ice sculpting demonstrations and competitions are going on. You never know what the weather is going to be here this time of year. Last year for the festival it was 8 below. I did go meet my mom and my nephew Joey to watch a guy sculpting a swan. The ground was actually muddy.
Don't want to complain about anything. Compared to what the people in Haiti are going through. In 2006 I was in Haiti. I was on a cruise ship and the beach we stopped at was owned by Royal Caribbean. Where we stopped must of been secluded. I sure didn't see what I have on TV. I didn't realize how many people lived there. When we got off the ship there were people selling their wares in a building. We never saw any of the cities in Haiti.
My daughter gives blood and was asked if she had been to Haiti. They weren't going to let her give blood. Since we were just on the beach and not in the town they let her give blood. Now I see why she was questioned.
I have been busy hooking and finished this round heart rug tonight. It is a Need'l Love~ Here's My Heart. I did list it on Ebay tonight.
Hope everyone's weekend is going well. Pray for the Haitian people

~1870 Urn Hooked Rug~
We've warmed up to 32 in Ohio today. I was going to wash my car today but, the roads are still wet. I can't WAIT to get my car cleaned up!! It did feel like a heat wave today to me!!
This morning I woke up to NO WATER, so my husband went down to the barn and got water to make coffee. We have 3 water wells where we live~thank goodness. Tom fixed the pump later in the morning, so we have water. I'm really appreciating having water and electric, simple things that we take for granted.
I finished this rug today. The pattern is from Nature's Offerings by Maggie Bonanomi. I love all her patterns and this is the first thing that I have made out of the book. Tonight I'm going to list it on Ebay. Now what to make next..

Folk Art Heart Hooked Rug
It is still snowing in Ohio. The snow is so pretty, I'm so glad I don't have to drive anywhere though. We're supposed to get lake affect snow tommorrow, we're in the secondary region. We're pretty far from the lake. LOL!
I have been hooking alot. I got this rug finished yesterday and tonight I listed it on Ebay. This rug is one of my favorites that I've hooked. The pattern is out of the French Market Need'l Love Thread books. Most of the wool in the rug I have hand dyed, the background is a mixed black plaid.
Hope everyone has a nice rest of the week!! Stay warm and safe!

Winter Wonderland in Ohio
It is a winter wonderland in Ohio. We live in cental Ohio so, we haven't gotten that much snow here. My friends in northern Ohio are getting lots of snow. Last night I took this picture of our farmhouse because today I'm going to take down the lights. It is sad for me when I have to put all the Christmas decorations away.
I have been hooking a rug and hope to have it done by this weekend. I'll post a picture. Have a great day!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!! It's been great so far. OSU won the Rose Bowl!!! My daughter Lindsay, went to Pasadena, California to the Rose Bowl. She went to the Tournament of Roses Parade this morning and then went to the game. I just talked to her and told her it is snowing here and that it will be in the teens for the next 10 days.
Lindsay and her friend Morgan said that they would like stay in California and skip winter quarter in Columbus.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!
