~Folk Art Heart Hand Hooked Rug~
I'm going to list this rug on Ebay tonight. I really like the way it turned out. The rug was hooked by me and is Lori Brechlin's Notforgotten Farms~ Spring Tyme booklet. You can go to Lori's blog, it is in my list of favorite blogs.
It has been a busy day for me. We took Lindsay back to OSU in Columbus, Ohio. She came home Wednesday night because she very sick. She had strep throat and a high temp.. It's really bad getting sick when you are in college. She went to the doctor and got a doctor's excuse so she will be able to make everything up that she missed. Hope everyone has a great week!!

♥Rugs I've Hooked♥
I'm in a group on Ebay called Primitive Rug Hooking Group~PRHG. Every week I feature a member in the group and make a collage of their rugs they have hooked along with a picture of person. I have been doing this every week since April 2008. This week I didn't have pictures lined up and had to use myself. My goal is to feature everyone in the group, there are 76 members.

~Hydrangeas and Sunflowers~
Here is a picture that I took in August, 2008. One of my favorite Hydrangeas is a Pee Gee Hydrangea Tree. It is in the center of the picture and is overgrown with the orange flowers, Tithonia~Mexican sunflower. My flower beds get overgrown by August. I always over plant, it's hard to visualize how big everything will get. I try to work on that every year, I could prune plants. That doesn't happen very often because I want every flower. I did prune my garden phlox last summer and it did work out that the phlox bloomed all summer.
This picture of a sunflower, it was a volunteer plant. I didn't plant them they seeded down from the seeds from the year before. Sunflowers grow very well for me, it is interesting to see the different areas that the plants spout up. I do have to pull alot of the sunflower starts out, they would take over my flower beds. When I look at them they make me smile, I think they are so pretty. Then when they go to seed, it so fun to watch the Gold Finches eat the seeds.

~Hoping Spring Gets Here Fast~
One of my favorite flowers are Dahlias. I have had this Cactus Dahlia for several years. The great thing about Dahlias, is that you can divide them and get several plants. I've given so many to my friends. It's fun to get Dahlia tubers from other gardeners as well.
This is a scabiosa~pin cushion flower. This variety is a minature, I have grown it before. It doesn't seem to come back, so I'm hoping it made it through the winter. If not, I'll buy another plant because it blooms all summer. I'm getting to know what plants give alot through the growing season. Of course, it depends on the weather we have. Seems like we have wet springs, followed by a drought.
Another favorite flower of mine is Hydrangea. I have several different types and I never get tired of them. Love them in arrangements.
This is a little pond outside by my door. It's very small but, it's easy to take care of. The only problem I have is my dogs get a drink out of it and knock the rocks in the pond. I have to fix the rocks all the time. I have 3 ponds in my landscaping and I'm considering getting rid of one of them. I do cover the ponds in the fall with netting so the leaves don't get in the water.
Did you know that you can put Cannas in your pond? They can be just regular Cannas, they don't have to be special pond cannas. I especially like the varigated leaf varieties. All you have to do is pot the canna tubers in a pot and sink them in your pond. Sometimes I have to sit them on a rock to get them to the right level of the water. Remember to take them out in the fall and store them in a place that doesn't freeze.

~Gardening In White~
I was thinking of planting a garden with all white flowers. If you have the book Country Living Seasons, there are pictures of a white flower garden worth looking at. I've noticed that white flowers in my gardens stand out and you can see them from a distance.
Here are some pictures of white flowers I already have, so I can just divide them.

~Puerto Rico~
I mentioned in a previous post that Tom and I are going on a cruise in November. We're flying to Puerto Rico to board the cruise ship. My brother inlaw, Steve thought it would be fun to spend a couple days in Puerto Rico before we get on the cruise ship. My brother inlaw, Mike, Tom, and I have never been to Puerto Rico so we are excited to spend time in San Juan waiting for everyone else to meet us on the cruise ship.
Yesterday I received confirmation from the hotel that we are going to stay at. It's the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel, it looks really nice. I'm so glad we're getting there early because during my last cruise we flew into Miami the same day as we were boarding the cruise ship. I was so worried our plane would be late and we would miss the ship.

~Groundhog Day~
OH DARN!!! He saw his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter. I heard on the news that he is 39% right, so maybe we have hope. The sun must of been shining at Gobblers Knob this morning. Every year on Groundhog Day when I hear someone talking about Gobblers Knob, it brings back memories of one of our friends Dave. He named his place Gobblers Knob~ he even had it in his mailbox. Dave has since passed away and we miss him!!
I'm so excited I bought this book yesterday and can't wait to get it.
I bought this one as well. I always love getting new books!!
This is what we ate during the Super Bowl. My oldest son Tommy, made wings along with dipping sauces. My husband Tom, made breaded mushrooms. I thought I was going to have to do all the cooking but, I let them take over. LOL!

~February's Here~
We made it through January, it's been a long month. February usually flies by for me, so I'm hoping this year is the same.
I just listed this rug on Ebay this afternoon. I hooked the rug and the design is an adaption from "With These Hands".
I'm excited about watching the Super Bowl tonight. I have no preference who wins but, I like to cheer for the underdogs. I wish my Cleveland Browns were in it!! Maybe someday! I need to start cooking food for the game. I even went to the store and got the 3D glasses but, I don't know if they are for a commerical or halftime. We also watch the TV show "Chuck" and you need 3D glasses to watch the next episode.
