This Is What I Did Today

Last weekend I showed my girlfriends how to make
hypertufa  bee skeps. After seeing theirs, I wanted another one.Today, I mixed some for myself.
I tried a pumpkin for the first time.
I need a better form.
I have seen on pinterest to use a
plastic pumpkin that kids carry for candy.
We'll see how this works.
I also made some for my fairy gardens.
3 little pumpkins and 2 little bee skeps.
The recipe was 1 part Portland cement
1 part peat moss and 1 part perlite
mix with water.
It's like making mud pies as a child.
I gave my topiary a haircut, it was getting out of hand. LOL! Have a great day!!

  1. Julie ~
I absolutely LOVE your beeskep. It's on my list of things to do, too, but my list is way too long :)

  3. Yes, the beeskep is awesome! Wow! This is such a neat project. But, I got in trouble as a kid for making mudpies. That is probably not a good start... Oh the pumpkins are so dear too!

    Thanks for sharing this!

    Love and hugs,
    Heather

  6. How cool are those little creations you made! Will these stay outside since they are part cement? I love the idea of making your own yard art!
