Spring Is My Favorite Time of the Year
My Lady Slippers are blooming. There are lots of blooms this year.
Hostas and Yellow Azalea
Purple Irises
Blue Columbine
I LOVE spring!! It usually comes just in the nick of time. WHY?? I'm at my wits end with the cold weather. I start mowing as soon as I can, I'm one of those people who love to mow. Not push mow but, on my John Deere riding lawn mower.
I haven't planted alot of annuals, so glad I didn't it frosted here last week. Some of my flowers are starting to bloom. Here are some pictures I took today. The hostas look so pretty this time of year. They are so fresh looking, in a few weeks they will probably get a few holes in the leaves from slugs. I have problem with them but, I don't use chemicals to kill slugs. I just put up with them or try to use natural stuff to get rid of them.I'm hoping for sunshine here in Ohio. Hope everyone has a great week!

HI Julie!! Love your gardens..I bookmarked your posts from last year with your beautiful flowers!! They are such inspiration! I have been wanting to move my patio bricks around for the past few years...but I can't get anyone to help and I know I would never finish it myself..take lots of pictures..before and after!
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are always a joy to see... so very pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your lady slippers....I don't think my husband has ever tried to grow those before....maybe I should show him your pictures....your garden is lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Julie!
ReplyDeleteYour gardens look so nice. Don't you just love how green everyting is!! I bought annuals a couple of weeks ago but just potted them over the weekend b/c of the threat of frost. It is supposed to be past that threat here in Ohio now. Let's just hope Mother Nature got the memo. Thanks for sharing your beauty!!

Beautiful! Love all the green that Spring brings... and those lady slippers are so cute! For slugs, I put a half plastic soda bottle in the dirt (even with the ground line) and then add some cheap beer. They fall right in there... Icky to clean up... LOL... but it does work...

Love those lady slippers! Haven't tried those before~maybe they're not hardy here in Missouri or I think I would have some by now!
ReplyDeleteAs for the hostas, I try not to use chemicals also and have always read to put out little shallow pans of beer for them. They go inside and drown! EEEwwwwww....I sure don't want to handle drowned slugs! I agree with you, let them eat a little. That's nature!
