A New Cabin Roof

The guys have been busy putting a new roof on our cabin at the pond. The Boy Scouts built it years ago when they came here to camp. Last weekend they torn off the old roof when it was cooler. It looks so nice with the new metal roof. It should last for years now. Maddie and Gus were swimming in Plumrun Creek. It was hot today, I waded with them. They're almost finished.  Until next time... Julie

  8. Yes, it sure will. When it comes to durability, metal roofs would most likely last from 20 to 30 years. Modern metal roofs are coated with an alloy of zinc and aluminum, which allows it to withstand weather conditions. Also, it is lightweight and easy to maintain.

  9. What did the cabin have previously for a roof? Is it thatched roof like the one on traditional cabins? Or did it have asphalt shingles like with modern cabins? Anyway, the new metal roof looks good. Metal roof is also durable and really long-lasting; it can last for more than a century!

  10. There's nothing better than having a new roof in time for summer! With the hot temperature making everyone sizzle, a shelter that will keep you cool, relaxed, and comfortable is something that’s more a necessity than a want. Also, Maddie and Gus look absolutely adorable there, wading in the water to cool off! You have very beautiful friends, Julie!

  12. Looks like your cabin is getting a new facelift this summer! Well, it would be nice to spend some quality time in a cool, newly-roofed cabin! The Boy Scouts will surely appreciate your gesture. And good move on the tin roof! Tin roofs are durable and can withstand fires and harsh weather.

  13. I trust the roof installment went well. Metal roofing is a great choice. It could withstand harsh weather and abrupt weather changes. Walking around just under the roof and looking for stains may help you find for possible leaks. Also try to look for soft spots in the wood as well, since they could be indications of animal or insect infestation. Great job guys!

  14. Yeah, it looks a lot better. It would definitely last for a lot of years with that metal roof installed. Metal roofs are one of the most durable roofing materials, capable of resisting cracks, shrinkage, and erosion. It can withstand extreme weather conditions like hail storms and wildfires. You made great decision in choosing that metal roof for your cabin.
