Done!!

I got the 4th of July rug done.

It looks better in person.

This is the biggest rug I've hooked.

Polly Minick will come out with a book

with this pattern in 2012.

I can't wait to see what other rugs are in the book.

It has been a really busy month for me.

I thought I was an empty nester but,

I have been busier than ever with my 3 kids.

I don't think it is going to ever stop raining here.

My husband is waiting for our fields to dry out

so he can start planting corn.

One of our friends says were due for a drought.

I sure hope not!

Have a nice evening!

LOVE the rug! How big is it?
We had a monsoon here yesterday and they are predicting more. I'm whining because it's too wet to work outside and my livlihood does not depend on it. I hope it starts to dry out for your hubby. Come August we'll be praying for rain!
    Pug hugs :)

  4. So you hook the rugs that Polly designs and publishes in her books? That's awesome! I feel like I know a 'famous' person now! LOL It's just lovely.

  5. love the July 4th rug. You did a great job. I don't think I would have the patience to do something like that, but I love hooked rugs. Be safe from all the storms and rain. Have a great evening.

  6. Thank you everybody for the nice comments! No, I'm not famous!! LOL! Someone just asked me if I'd hook it for them. It is 54" x 24" I think. I do have all Polly Minick's books.
Yes, we'll all be complaining about how hot it is next. Sure wish it would be around 70-75 for awhile.

  7. The rug finished up fabulous! I was tempted to order this kit...but then realized how many projects I already have and decided to wait until just the pattern was available. ;-) I've learned to take the rain when we get it... last year's drought here was so bad I lost most of my lawn and some of my perennials and shrubs... The good side of that is that I get to replant with some new fresh blooms! :-)

  8. Julie,
Your rug turned out beautiful! We've had so much rain here in VA too. The farmers are just chomping at the bit to get in the fields but it's just to wet. Crops will probably be late this year. Last year was so dry, I guess we shouldn't complain.
    Blessings,
    Jean

  12. LOVE LOVE LOVE the rug! Can we buy the pattern now or do we have to wait for the book? (Do you have connections?)
I have been wanting to do her pattern with the upside down top hat with flowers coming out of the top. Can't remember the name of the pattern.

  13. Your rug is awesome!!

I feel like we are almost sisters. I have three kids that are out of the house and they sure keep me busy also. My husband is waiting for our fields to dry up also so that he can plant corn.

What kind of mulch do you use? Last year we put all new plants around the house with "wood chip" mulch and it seems I'm always picking it out of the grass, because of our "North Dakota" winds!
