1840 Rabbit Hooked Rug

I just watched the weather, more snow~just what we need!! I don't mind but, Lindsay is supposed to come home for the weekend. I worry about her driving in the snow, she doesn't care. She does have a SUV, I'm just a mom though.
I finished this rug today. It's the first rabbit I've ever hooked, don't know why I just haven't. I really like the way it turned out. The background is like Lumberjack, don't know what it's called though. I used 5 different wools in the pot and dyed them a primitive gold. The pattern is from Need'l Love Meadow Threads Book.
Hope everyone is having a good week!

A Little Sunshine Is Nice

We're getting a little break, the sun is shining. The weathermen have been calling for more snow. This morning they changed it to rain, what a mess that will be.
Last Tuesday I got a colonoscopy. I'm SOOOO glad it's done and over!!!! Drinking that stuff for the prep was so bad!! I held my nose and chased it down with diet Sierra Mist. I did have a 1 polyp and the Dr. removed it, everything else was good. He said see you in 3 years, I said how about 10 years. LOL!!!
I have been hooking this week and just finished this rug. I listed it on Ebay today. This rug was fun to hook. It is a Brenda Gervais~With Thy Needle & Thread Punchneedle design I hooked. I really like all the detail, hooking doesn't get boring when you have the whole alphabet to hook. Yesterday, I went to Katie's to get wool, now I have enough wool to hook a couple rugs. Can't wait to get started.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Patriotic Rug~One of My Favorite Designs

I just listed this rug on Ebay tonight. This design is the very 1st rug that I hooked. I saw it hanging in Country Craft Cupboard in Berlin, Ohio. Never thought that I could make it and that was the start for me hooking rugs. This pattern is out of Summer Spirits Need'l Love Threads Book. Since I was new to hooking, everyone thought I should hook a little rug first. Nooo, I was only going to hook that rug for my house and quit.LOL! We have the rug and it is a wonder I continued hooking. I HATED the backing, I didn't know what hairless linen was. The linen I bought wasn't hairless and it was flimsy. UGH!! I have learned ALOT since the first rug I hooked!!
I reduced the size, it's not as big as the original pattern. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!

Dahlias

I just love Dahlias. The blooms are so showy and are beautiful. Dahlias are so easy to grow and you can dig them up for the next yaer. You do have to stake them because they get heavy and fall over. When I plant my tubers after covering them with soil I put a tomato cage right over where I planted them. The dahlias grow right up through the cage and you can't even see the wire cage. I start my dahlias in early May, the plant takes awhlile to grow so if it does frost the plant isn't up yet. I have started them inside in pots. That takes alot of potting soil though. It seems when I just put them in the ground they end up catching up with the ones I start inside.
I found this website from another blog and they have a great selection. Swan Island Dahlias

Snow Daze

I took this picture of our patio. You can see how high the snow is, there is a table and chair.

Snow snow and more snow!! Next Tuesday we are supposed to get more. It is pretty, it looks like frosting on the trees. It took my husband and son all day yesterday to dig out. We own a skid steer so we can move snow fast, we just have a long lane. My husband even went through the yard from the house to the barn and made a path. Why not? Our 3 legged Golden Retriever can get around easier.
I finished this rug yesterday, I have been working on it all week. It is a Brenda Gervais needle punch pattern that I hooked. It has alot of detail and wasn't boring to hook. I hope to list it on Ebay tonight. I'm starting a new Need'l Love pattern tonight.http://shop.ebay.com/plumruncreek/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340
Hope everyone has a great week!

Monday Night Hooking At Katie's

Rhonda bought this new quilting book and brought it to hooking. Oh!! is it really nice!! I love it!!

Katie's cat found a comfy spot on her frame.

Rhonda~myglorystars started this new rug. It is a crock rug, I love the pattern.

Karen is working on a lighthouse rug.

Katie is working on a huge rug.

Becky is working on a hit or miss star runner rug.

This is Phyllis. Rhonda's aunt. Isn't her little rug so cute. This is the first rug she has hooked. She did a great job on it!

Here is the progress on Katie's rug. It is beautiful, it's a fine cut.

Becky quilts also. She brought this quilt to show everyone, it is so cute!!

Rhonda took this picture of me. I was drawing a pattern and picking out wool to buy. Katie has beautiful wool and it is hard to decide what to buy.

TGIF ~ Thank Goodness It's February!!

I found this picture today. This was taken in August. Look at the picture below, it was taken in June. I think everything gets out of hand. LOL!

This picture was taken in June.

I am starting to think about gardening. I would like to start alot of my plants this year. Every year I always think, why didn't I start my seeds earlier?? It really saves alot of money!! I love to grow impatients and they are very easy to grow. The only tricky part is that the seeds are tiny. Hopefully, this year I will get seeds growing early.

We made it through January. It wasn't too bad here in Ohio. I have been starting to look through my gardening pictures from last summer. Spring will be here before we know it.
